Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) aimed at providing business training and financing to 1000 peasant women through the Village Savings and Loan Association approach. The objective is to empower vulnerable women and girls in rural communities, socially, economically and culturally to achieve financial autonomy and consolidate peace.
I.A.A has organized 16 IDP Women Saving and Loan Groups across the West Region of Cameroon to provide economic support to women and girls displaced due to ongoing conflict in the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon. 320 women have been registered in the groups who save regularly, receive training on financial literacy, agribusiness and 90-95% women and girls have indicated increase access to finance, family food security and income levels, allowing them to provide for children's school fees, health care and clothing. Over $10,000 have been saved within the groups and IDP women and girls have been socially included in the host community through this solidarity and social economy initiative.
I.A.A hopes to increase the scope of this program by building and mentoring many women local financial and solidarity groups, providing talored business training, finance and learning resources to help vulnerable women and girls esecially in the agrifood systems/enterprises.
