Mexicans already in Colombia have formed a humanitarian brigade to aid Choco, providing food, hygiene supplies, and Dignity Kits, prioritizing women, girls, and adolescents.
The earthquake in Choco damaged communities and disrupted access to safe water, food, hygiene, and essential services. Women, girls, and adolescents face added risks, including lack of privacy, menstrual hygiene supplies, and safe spaces. Urgent aid must reach underserved communities while protecting life, dignity, and human rights.
Mexicans already in Colombia formed a humanitarian brigade to support affected communities in Choco. Donations will provide locally purchased food, safe water, hygiene supplies, and Dignity Kits for women and adolescent girls. Working with local actors, the Brigade will prioritize urgent needs, protection, dignity, and transparent use of funds.
Beyond immediate relief, the project will support a safer, more equitable, locally led recovery. Local purchasing will help reduce costs and support Colombia's economy, while coordination with community leaders will strengthen local networks. A gender-responsive approach will help protect women, girls, and adolescents and build resilience for future emergencies.
