1. Introduction

This report provides an update on the progress of the Restoring Hope: Empower 3,000 Widows in Nigeria project. Our mission is to restore hope, dignity, and economic independence for widows by providing livelihood opportunities, nutrition support, skills development, entrepreneurship training, psychosocial support, and community empowerment.

Although we did not receive external financial support during this reporting period, we remain committed to advancing this mission through our internal social enterprise, volunteer network, and ongoing community outreach.

2. Appreciation to GlobalGiving

We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving for providing a trusted platform that enables grassroots organizations like ours to connect with compassionate supporters around the world.

Although no external donations were received during this reporting period, we remain grateful for the opportunity to share our vision globally. We are optimistic that future partnerships and donor support will enable us to reach thousands of widows with life-changing opportunities.

3. Funding Status

During this reporting period, the project did not receive any external financial donations through GlobalGiving.

Despite this, implementation planning continued through the support of our internal social enterprise, volunteer network, and community partners. We also continued community outreach, beneficiary engagement, programme planning, and advocacy for the welfare and empowerment of widows.

4. Project ActivitiesCommunity Outreach

We continued engaging widows, community leaders, faith-based organizations, and local stakeholders to identify needs, strengthen community support, and promote programmes that improve the wellbeing and dignity of widows.

Economic Empowerment Planning

Planning continued for vocational skills training, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, agribusiness, and small business support that will enable widows to become economically independent and improve their household incomes.

Nutrition and Family Wellbeing

Through our internal social enterprise, we continued promoting Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and nutrient-dense fortified food products as part of our broader commitment to improving the nutrition and wellbeing of vulnerable women and their families.

Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub)

Our Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub) continued developing practical training programmes in food processing, food entrepreneurship, agribusiness, product development, packaging, and sustainable livelihoods. These programmes are intended to provide widows with income-generating skills that promote long-term self-reliance.

5. Social Enterprise Support

Our internal social enterprise continues to sustain this initiative through in-kind contributions, volunteer engagement, technical expertise, research, innovation, and community outreach.

For the past three years, we have consistently donated food during the pilot testing of our nutraceutical diet products and nutrient-dense fortified food products. These donations have benefited vulnerable individuals and families, including widows, while helping us improve product quality, safety, and nutritional value.

This integrated approach combines humanitarian service, nutrition, innovation, and sustainable livelihood development to restore hope and strengthen vulnerable households.

6. Estimated Impact

Despite limited financial resources, the project has continued making meaningful progress.

Community Reach

• Approximately 50–80 widows and community members reached through community outreach and engagement activities.
• Increased awareness of livelihood opportunities, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and community support.
• Strengthened relationships with community leaders and volunteers supporting widows.

Programme Development

• Continued planning for livelihood support and vocational training programmes.
• Expanded collaboration with volunteers and community stakeholders.
• Strengthened the foundation for future economic empowerment initiatives.

7. Challenges

The absence of external funding continues to limit our ability to provide vocational training, business start-up support, nutrition assistance, educational opportunities, and livelihood resources for widows.

Additional donor support will enable us to expand our programmes, empower more widows, and improve the wellbeing of thousands of vulnerable households across Nigeria.

8. Prospects and Future Plans

In the coming months, we aim to:

• Expand community outreach and widow empowerment programmes.
• Launch vocational skills training and entrepreneurship development initiatives.
• Strengthen nutrition support through Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and nutrient-dense fortified food products.
• Expand the Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub) to provide practical livelihood training for widows.
• Build partnerships with government agencies, development partners, faith-based organizations, women's groups, and the private sector to expand opportunities for widows.

We remain committed to restoring hope, promoting dignity, and creating sustainable pathways to economic independence for widows across Nigeria.

9. Conclusion

Although we did not receive external financial support during this reporting period, our commitment to empowering widows remains unwavering.

Through our internal social enterprise, volunteer network, community outreach, and the Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub), we continue laying a strong foundation for sustainable livelihood opportunities, improved nutrition, and economic empowerment for widows.
