Meaningful Care, Measurable Results

By Christine Cronin | Executive Director

Thanks to your continued support, farmworkers and their families receiving care through Colectivo CARE have reported meaningful improvements in their well-being, with 93% of those surveyed reporting reductions in stress and pain and 96% satisfied or very satisfied with the care they received. These results reflect the dedication of the practitioners providing care and the generosity of supporters like you who help make this work possible.

Colectivo CARE, founded through a collaboration between Livity Rising, Integrative Health Action Network, and Acupuncturists Without Borders, continues to evolve alongside the farmworker community. By listening to the people they serve, local practitioners adapt their approach to ensure that care remains accessible and responsive to the community.

To understand the importance of this work, we need to recognize the challenges farmworkers and their families face. Limited access to healthcare and insurance, inadequate housing, and demanding working conditions are part of their daily reality. Yet they perform essential work for all of us, producing one-third of the vegetables, two-thirds of the fruits and nuts, and 90% of the strawberries grown in California. Immigration-related stress and uncertainty, along with the difficulty of securing stable clinic locations, have created additional challenges for Colectivo CARE. Through creativity, flexibility, and perseverance, local practitioners continue to provide safe, welcoming, trauma-informed care for farmworkers and their families.

We are deeply grateful to the practitioners, community partners, and each of you who make this work possible. Your generosity helps ensure that farmworkers and their families have access to compassionate care that responds to their needs, even as circumstances change.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support!
