To promote better menstrual hygiene and support adolescent girls in managing their monthly menstruation with dignity, washable, reusable sanitary pad 80 sets were distributed to menstruating girls in Sitadevi Secondary School in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-4, Dhankuta, a rural hilly area of eastern Nepal.
Along with the sanitary pads, each girl received an informational leaflet in the local language explaining menstrual hygiene management, proper use and care of reusable pads, and the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene during menstruation.
The sanitary pad sets were handed over to the female teacher and school club representatives before being distributed to the students during a small program organized at the school.
Mr. Kajinarayan, school club teacher, shared that the distribution of reusable sanitary pads, together with awareness of menstrual health and hygiene, will help adolescent girls manage menstruation more confidently and comfortably. He added that such support encourages girls to maintain good hygiene practices and continue attending the school regularly during their menstrual periods.
