ECCA had established and strengthened women group in Gundi village, ward 12, Rapti Municipality, Chitwan (which is located in a hilly area in south central Nepal). The people living in this village are from the indigenous group called Chepang - a particularly disadvantaged ethnic group in Nepal. This tribe has been ranked as “most marginalized” in terms of socioeconomic indicators, access to education, and literacy rate.
After ECCA providing training on menstruation, its management and the use (and making) of washable reusable sanitary pads to the local women group, its members organized related awareness program by visiting each household in their village “Gundi”.
Mrs. Praja (one of the participants) thanked ECCA and the supporting individuals/institutions.
