ECCA recently organized menstrual hygiene related orientation for the members of women group in Thakuribhanjyang village in ward no. 12, Rapti Municipality, Chitwan (which is located in a hilly area in south central Nepal). The people living in this village are from the indigenous group called Chepang - a particularly disadvantaged ethnic group in Nepal. This tribe has been ranked as “most marginalized” in terms of socioeconomic indicators, access to education, and literacy rate.
During the orientation, the participants were also taught how to make at home a reusable washable sanitary pad.
Mr. Praja (who also participated) thanked ECCA for including him also (among other ladies) in the training. He said “I have now learned about menstrual hygiene management. I will support lady members in my house.”
We thank you for your continued support.
