ECCA conducted an event aiming at creating awareness on menstrual hygiene among 25 adolescent school students and teachers of Shree Thani Basic School located in Dhankuta Municipality Ward 9 of Dhankuta District in eastern Nepal. The event included an interaction session to make the school students aware of the right menstrual hygiene practices. 80 reusable sanitary pads were also handed over to the Child Club representatives and teacher for distribution among menstruating school girls. Leaflets in local language with information about menstrual hygiene management was also provided along with the sanitary pad sets.
Mrs. Rasaili, teacher of Thani Basic School, stated that the support of reusable sanitary pads and the orientation about menstruation, its management and the use of washable reusable sanitary pads is very helpful for the personal hygiene management of young girls.
