A set of washable reusable sanitary pads was distributed to each menstruating girls of Shree Hari Basic School located in Mechi Nagar Municipality (around 460 km east of Kathmandu in Jhapa district in east Nepal). All together 80 sets of washable reusable sanitary pads were distributed. Leaflets in local language, with information about menstrual hygiene management, was also provided along with the sanitary pad sets. The sanitary pads were handed over to the Child Club representatives and the school teacher and distributed by organizing a small event.
Mr. Guru, teacher of the school, stated that the support of reusable sanitary pads and the orientation about menstruation, its management and the use of washable reusable sanitary pads is very helpful for the personal hygiene management of young girls.
