To live healthy, productive and dignified lives, it is essential that girls are able to manage menstrual bleeding effectively. Considering this fact, ECCA supported washable reusable sanitary pads (along with a leaflet containing information on menstrual hygiene management, menstrual cycle tracking paper, and using procedure) to 930 menstruating girl students (from class 6 to 10) of Shree Dhulabari Secondary School, situated in Dhulabari, Jhapa district of Nepal.
The girl students shared that the orientation provided by ECCA helped to enhance the knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene among school girls. They added, “As all the menstruating girls were gifted with a set of reusable sanitary pads, they will feel comfortable during their periods in several ways. The pads provided by ECCA can be easily carried in school bag or pocket, due to which the girls will not have to hurry to the market/home to manage the sanitary pad during school hours. We thank ECCA for organizing this program on such an important issue for girls.”
We also thank you for the continuous support.
