There are so many barriers to adopt menstrual hygiene practices on the basis of: awareness, acceptance and access even in educated and well facilitated areas, then imagine what it is like in other parts of the country. This imagination has led ECCA to initiate various approaches on the way to cope with the barriers in various districts of Nepal since 2008 to bring change on the negative social norms with regard to menstruation and also empowering girls and women to uncage their educational and economic opportunities.
As we are celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020 (on May 28, 2020) with the idea, “It’s a time for action”, it’s really a time to create a world with dignified Menstrual Hygiene Management and collectively, we can!
