Mayan Families has been providing Micro Finance for many years. We work with Women's Groups in the Highlands of Guatemala. Micro Finance through Mayan Families offers hope to many families.

The truly poor have no access to conventional loans and borrowing because they have no collateral and no credit history. Most do not have a Bank account.

The money has to be used to either start a small business or enhance an existing one. One woman has started a small goods store. Another has bought two blenders to start a juice stand. Another to invest dry goods into her already existing stall.

Long-Term Impact

Mayan Families Micro-Finance/Micro-Loans program was made to address the financial needs of the poor. It has created access to credit enabling the poor to build on their existing skills to earn a better income in each cycle of loans.
