progress of activities for mateete project

Kiyumba Community Organization is a registered Community Based Organization, for the past 3 years, the organization has implemented community self help projects specifically targeting the vulnerable families in the communities found in 3 Sub Counties of Ssembabule District.

Kiyumba has managed to Protect  and rehabilitate 4 springs  in areas of mijwala, miteete and kinoni ,Identification of two more sites on going in kimbeba

We have Constructed 6 panel toilets which have Increased access to sanitation facilities in the district, construction Work is  still on going at mijwala trading centre and kinoni primary school

Access to safe water has been increased from 42% to 56% due to construction of new sources after the construction of 8 Drill rain water tanks and rehabilitation of 8 new boreholes.

 

27 pit latrines have been sunk and construction going on, due to provision of sanitation kits to schools. 33 pit latrines have been dug at house hold community level due to distribution of kits at parishes.

 

Hygiene and environmental improvement messages have been targeted based on the water quality reports and Surveillance done in the 3 parishes of Mitoma,, Kasanvu, and Miteete.

 

Works are still going on but on a small note due to the fact that our project has not acquired all the necessary funds
