There's an African proverb which says, 'If you want to go quickly go alone; if you want to go far go together'.
The 29th of June and Global Giving Bonus Day proved just that for us at trade+impact.
Our networks rallied together and spread the word of what we are trying to achieve through our first ever trade+impact Summit & Trade Expo.
In just 24 hours we were able to mobilize $7,395 USD from more than 46 individuals, and we cannot express how thankful we are for this! Because of this, we recived over $746 in matching funds and bonuses of $1,000 USD towards our project! This means we were able to raise $9,141 in just one day!
With these funds, we will be able to bring more than 50 women-led social enterprises from more than 27 African + Middle Eastern companies together to trade, network, learn and grow.
We are still working towards reaching our goal, but thanks to some special donors, such as CAABWA (The Canadian & African Business Women's Alliance) who fundraised and were able to donate over $4,600 yesterday!
All other donations are going towards funding participants from all over the region to attend the event which will create an enabling environment for social enterprises by providing trade, investment and skills development opportunities.
