Warmest greetings from Guatemala,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. I wanted to update you on the progress here since our last one in May.
The rainy season is upon us here and that is good for the farmers! We are looking forward to a break from about now until the first week of August, when the rains will return, in earnest, until October.
Our students, all 65 of them, ages 4-12 are attending our after-school program at our Integral Heart Center in Antigua Guatemla. They come in groups of about 20-25 students at a time and get picked up from their public school at 12.30 and arrive at our place by 1pm. First thing is lunch, that our staff shop for at the local markets and prepare in the mornings.
Then for the class schedule, depending on the age groups, they will have homework help classes; since we require a 70% grade point average in the public-school exams for attendence. Others will do artwork, Spanish language and orthography. Later in the day we offer a snack before they are picked up at 5.30 to be taken back to their village.
And, an update on our Summer Funder. As you know our last fundraiser was in March. With the current one we have raised just over 14k on the way to the 40k goal. We are hoping to complete this funding drive by the end of July.
As always, thank you so much for all of your support.

Now in the middle of our 14th year of service.
