It is a time where we are hearing positive news in terms of South Africans and sporting success especially when we have just seen athletes like Wayde van Niekerk and Caster Semenya carry South Africa to a record medal haul at the IAAF World Championships in London.
What we know fully is that investment in the sporting development of young people can open doors to their future. We are in the process of extending our gym facilities that we were able to introduce last year starting with weight based machines that can help promote and motivate healthy lifestyles.
However the necessity of this multi-purpose court cannot be emphasized enough! It will transform the sporting opportunities available to the children at our youth centre and, as well as allowing young people to maximize their talents and potential, will also assist in offering valuable life skills like self-esteem, teamwork, social integration, healthy living and creating new bonds and friendships.
I truly hope that we can get more support behind this project as it will be wonderful to see this come to life! Thank you for taking the time to read through this and please spread the word to see if the dream can become a reality!
