With us still in a midst of a global pandemic it has certainly placed a lot of emphasis on the importance of keeping and maintaining a healthy lifestyle,
There have been other concerning health stats in South Africa. We’ve also had to attend to a case here at our youth centre of a child admitted with diabetes. This alone is currently estimated to impact 4 million South African’s.
Furthermore we have just seen news coverage of a South African pharmaceutical company specializing in men’s health urging men to get more active rather than succumbing to debilitating diseases such as cardiovascular disease, a stroke or cancer.
As such this project is very much still alive going into 2021 to bring better sports facilities and equipment to our project!
We have also gone through periods of lockdown where it has been vital to have resources at our disposal for the children and young people to utilize. It has also been a testing time with children having heard news of family members succumbing to the virus. But what we also know is that healthy body makes a healthy mind!
Even now we continue to operate all year round at our residential centre with children staying with us over the whole Christmas holiday that need to be kept busy!
The more support we can get to keep the children physically active, in shape and with positive mental wellbeing the better!
Thank you for reading and reaching out to us!
