We are very thankful that with all the precautions we have taken at our residential facility we have not had any positive cases of Covid-19,
Yet it has been a traumatic time for many even at our organisation with numerous children and young people having lost loved one's from their communities here in South Africa,
Now as we adapt to a 'new normal' and getting back into our usual activities we still hope to achieve our dreams of establishing the sports facilities we need.
This lockdown period has showed us even more that it is actually essential for us to have such facilities at the centre. We continued to operate at full capacity during lockdown and for many children to emotional impact of staying full time on the grounds of the centre can of course cause increased tensions and anxiety where we are trying our best to ensure they are fully supported throughout this pandemic,
We have been fortunate to continue to render some of our structured activities through this time. Our partners providing hip hop dance and fitness classes have been able to adapt to 'virtual' sessions that we have logistically managed to get our children in attendance at!
Most recently for Youth Day here in South Africa the energy levels were great as our boys and girls got involved in outside team sports and team building activity restoring some smiles on faces...!
If we can achieve the upgrades in terms of the facilities that we strive to do then we are going to see even more positive change and transformation in the lives of these young people! So please support us if you can!
