As ever time really does fly!
Here in South Africa we have just finished the first school term of the year, and it most definitely has been a busy one!
We were first able to celebrate as one of our senior girls achieved positive results to end her high school career, now is on the road to become a nurse and make her dream come true!
It remains important to us that we also focus on entrepreneurial education too, as our teenagers and older young people need to be encouraged with real-life in demand career skills. We were also fortunate to have a visiting professor from the US who helped facilitate a work readiness program for our youth :-)
This is where we often need to 'think outside the box' and allow the future generation of South Africa enough opportunities that can help them flourish when it comes to being independent and shaping their own adulthood!
It is great that through the support of donors like yourselves we have been able to open the door for Occupational Therapy to take place. This is of course vital, and we have 12 children age 6-13 who will be recieving this weekly over the next term,
Our youth centre is a wonderful family unit. To see the children flourish in our Early Childhood Development program has been inspiring. But they also have their own inspiration in the older youth we continue to support residentially - one for example doing a Diploma in Hospitality & Catering and one on a learnership for Sustainable Bulding & Maintenance...examples of our youth who have been with us for more than a decade and now are seeing the results of making the most of the opportunities afforded to them from the work we do!
But it is only made possible from the support we recieve, and the donations to help transform more lives,
Because together - we can make brighter futures possible!
