THEY DID IT!!!

By Harrison Dax Nash | Charity Director / Project Leader

Congratulations to our two new matriculants! Wow!
Congratulations to our two new matriculants! Wow!

We started the year with some very good news in terms of our young people at the centre! As clichéd as it may sound to say…throwing graduation hats up in the air…THEY DID IT!

Our two Grade 12 students are now officially “matriculants” having achieved their matric certificate (a-levels / high school diploma equivalent) with access to university level studies for them both!

After investing in these young people for the past 7 years it is always very fulfilling to see doors opening for them thanks to the support they have been able to receive! Now we can wait to follow the next part of their journey!

Another wonderful success story is now our oldest girl who has been accepted to further education and training in Hospitality & Catering which can take her through 3 years with 18 months work based studies included. How amazing to think of the example she sets to other children at the centre after being with us for the past 8 years!

The girl who has been the longest at our youth centre is also now embarking on her final year at school and we are wishing her all the best as we continue to support her to achieve her best results! She has a dream of becoming a teacher one day and we have no doubt she will make it!

And as the first day of the new school year came are kids were very excited, especially those starting new schools or even being able to go to school for the first time…!

Remember that YOU help to sustain the education and schooling of our children through the support and donations received. We just hope you will continue to help us and spread the word because now we can truly see the result of everything being put in!
