Our foundation Time of Peace, has been giving classes to the children benefited by our program, where the main objective has been to train them in values and develop life skills, through musical initiation between the ages of 5 and 12 who are in a situation of vulnerability. , contributing to their personal , cultural and recreational development.
We want the children who benefit from our program to acquire technical, musical, humanistic, social and aesthetic knowledge, through the practice of appropriate habits for the development of academic knowledge of Music.
Our goal is social transformation, which includes the different physical, mental, intellectual, moral, spiritual, social, affective, ethical, civic parameters and other human values; framed in the construction of a better society and a better future for themselves and their families.

MUSIC: CREATOR OF GOOD LIFESTYLE HABITS
With the support of Yamaha Foundation, the children from Fundación Tiempo de Paz started their music classes this first semester.
Most of the children, especially the ones in Boston and San Javier Centers, have been under a continuous process that has been continuously escalating from three years ago, thus it has permitted the boys to get wider skills on their instruments as well as more advance music knowledge.
At the beginning, all children worked on playing simple instruments as the flute and percussion. Today, they have started to identify themselves with instruments they feel more connected with, as the piano for example.
What is even more interesting is not only that there be music classes, but that in time, these classes are achieving various objectives, and we hope the same for the new generations in the foundation.
When we contribute to children become passionate and work hard on an musical instruments, it would be more and more difficult that they get passionate for things and habits that might destroy their own life.
The musical work performed by the children in the Foundation has been an comprehensive process, where they have been able to not only explore their talents through the interpretation of musical instruments as the flute, the triple, the xylophone and percussion, but also have worked their vocal technique, dancing and performing skills, which has allowed them to comprehensively grow within the musical world.
This end of the year, we had our Christmas Dinner celebration, a perfect time so our children be able to show the musical play they were preparing with the support of their music teachers, who played a key role in this educational process.
Around 50 children were involved in the processes of musical training in 2022 here at the Foundation, some of them played five beautiful musical pieces that delighted the attendants of the Christmas Dinner, it was a very touching moment that showed that validated that it worth to keep on preserving for a better childhood.
We are convinced that as long as children bet on their skills, they would hardly be involved in wrong steps that may lead them to destroy their own lives.
Our boys and girls are discovering and exercising all their harmonic, rhythmic and melodic skills
at the music classes they are taking in the Fundación Tiempo de Paz.
Both, Boston and San Javier Centers have been working together with the teachers who every
week strengthen children´s development in the skills needed to play the instrument set and
the recognition of basic music langue, among other things that allows a better projection of
each one of the several musical spaces.
Playing the flute, the percussion and the guitar are some of the instruments the children have
been playing and improving in their handling and sound, together with the values that are
taught such as punctuality, compromise and respect, are turning the classes into a healthy and
highly significant environment for their development and decision-making processes, who the
most of them live in tough environments.
There are many dreams and good decisions that are being created in the minds of the children
who are influenced through these musical spaces, because we know that, by choosing this
path, they hardly will be tangled into wrong steps that might destroy their life.

We love to state that a “child that holds a musical instrument, will hardly hold a gun”. By using percussion, cords and wind instruments our children are making sounds of peace.
In the two groups we have in the Fundación Tiempo de Paz on introduction to music, classes are having an impact that goes beyond each Children Center.
During last March, San Javier Child Center had a beautiful visit from some foreigners from Spain that did not overlook the work we are doing for the children. It was an emotional time when children surprised the guest with three beautiful songs played on flute, a work prepared together with their music teacher, and guests did not waste the opportunity to share it with all the world through their social networks.
This kind of spaces are the ones opening better opportunities for our children, talents on the making that, why not saying it, are being locally and internationally consolidating themselves.
We are building a future!
