Support through Income Generating Activities has not only proved beneficial to the out of school youth but to the entire family. To date 38 (55% female) youth out of school have directly benefited from the piggery project through a pass on system and it is anticipated that by the end 2014 over 100 shall have benefited directly and 600 indirectly benefiting. It is worth noting that wellbeing of the youth is steadily improving and are to attend to their needs and wants to a certain extent. It’s our joy that these piggery projects have led them to other small scale businesses which they use to sustain their families in order to have a better life. Through these projects the youth in Bisanje have made groups and this has built their solidarity. On top of managing the pigs the youth have formed groups in which they have an internal saving and credit scheme. They normally borrow from this group fund to facilitate their income generating activities and also to start other small businesses that are beneficial to them. We are grateful for all the support from our friends who have enabled the youth think of the future and have a smile.
