Malhan Area is located on the west of Almahweet governorate in the Republic of Yemen. It was declared as a protected area due to its variety of fauna & flora ,its density of plant and ager trees, its endangered animals like Arabian leopards, and its rare birds. It has very strange and glamour land scape.
Describe the site: Malhan Area is located on the west of Almahweet governorate in republic of Yemen and it declared as reserve according to the variety the fauna & flora , whereas the density of plant and ager trees and numerous of the threated animals as Arabian Tiger and rare Birds, also it has very strange and glamour land scape.
- Protect the threated /extinct animals & plant which classified in emergency and extremely sever situation in the Malhan Protected Area. - Conserve representative and prime examples of biodiversity (ecosystems and species) through their identification in the Malhan area, and also to separate this biodiversity from the pressures that undermine its persistence. - Enhance public awareness of the wild live and biodiversity and of the principles of sustainable use.
Security through the database that will be accessed and used in preparing future studies and special plans that will contribute to the management of the reserve as well as setting an environmental record that helps implement a monitoring and environmental management plan for a long-term period. It will also contribute to raising the level of awareness among local communities about protecting wildlife Which will have a future effect in the long run.
