Illuminating the night with Spark of Knowledge

Hope you are doing well!

Operation Vasantha has been impacting the lives of disadvantaged rural children since 2009.This highly interactive and empowering initiative addresses the problem of school dropouts. It also aims to educate families on the importance of education and engage dropouts by helping them in their studies and other children through interactive activities, fun learning sessions. These activities include parents counseling, health and hygiene camps and education on ecology.

Local college students are trained and given support from Agastya to teach children in their villages. These individuals willingly spend their evenings educating and inspiring weaker students and school dropouts from their villages.

During the quarter, Operation Vasantha Centres there were 1,92,612 student exposures.

Special Activities

  • Parents meeting: This Month the volunteers conducted parents meeting and they discussed about their children's education, improving communication skills, and curriculum activities.
  • Mazabox: Mazabox classes were conducted for students twice in a week at the centers with help of Operation Vasantha volunteers.
  • Dwani Program is also running in some of the OV centers. Dwani is a  program which is about film-making where children shoot problems that they find in their communities and spread a message through short films.
  • On 29th July and 28th July All O.V volunteers and cluster leaders participated in “Yoga” program conducted by Yoga masters from Vivekanandha Yoga University.
  • On 15th August 2017 Independence Day was celebrated in all OV centers. Essay writing competition was also conducted on the topic “Our Freedom Fighters”. Winners were awarded with prizes.
  • On 23rd September 2017 we are conducted cluster wise science fair.
  • On 29th September all the O.V students participated in Swachhta Hi Seva Competition the students actively participated in Painting and Speech competition, on Swachhta Hi Seva students performed Dramas, Folk song and dances.
  • On 23rd September 2017 we conducted cluster wise science fair.
