OV Program Review: Activity and Outreach Summary

By Bipin Irabatti | Executive Donor Relations

BRIEF:

The Operation Vasantha program continued its successful delivery of hands-on learning experiences to disadvantaged communities. The program consistently operated across a network of 55 centers in both October and November 2025. The core objective of bridging the educational gap was maintained by creating an inclusive and joyful learning environment. Student engagement remained high, with total exposures recorded at 23,491 in October and 28,015 in November. Key activities included implementing community-focused programs, integrating new digital tools, and promoting physical activities.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:

Daily and weekly activities focused on delivering activity-based education, building volunteer capacity, and promoting community engagement.

  •  Educational Delivery: Regular sessions utilized hands-on and creative methodologies. Students   at one center engaged in leaf activities , and at another, they were observed doing paper   activities.
  •  Health and Wellness: Physical activities, such as Yoga Hasans (meditation and yoga), were   actively practiced by students in centers like Chimpangallu and Beggilipalli.
  • Community Awareness (Anjani Program): The Anjani program was conducted across all OV centers from late September to October 30th. This involved participation from parents, community members, and area leads. Parents at one center even made a paper bridge for the Anjani program.
  • Digital Integration: The Apnipatasala systems were inaugurated at one center on October 4th and installed at another center on November 18th. Training was provided to the local volunteer on system usage.
  • Volunteer Training and Support: Training sessions for volunteers were conducted on September 25th and November 8th at the Agastya campus. New resources were distributed, including stationary materials in September and Alexa devices to three centers (Chintarapalyam, Alugumanipalli, and Kuppiganipalli) in November to improve questioning attitudes among students. Suitcases were also distributed to volunteers in November.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS & EVENTS:
The period saw numerous visits and special events, highlighting strong internal and external stakeholder interest.

  • Campus Visits: Students from Karnataka OV centers visited the Agastya campus on October 14th and 15th, an exciting event noted as the first visit for those students. Students from another center also visited the campus and donated plants.
  • Celebrations and Contests: All OV centers celebrated Children's Day on November 14th, with prizes given to the children.
  • Cross-Culture Interaction: A cross-interaction session was conducted between two centers (Chintharapalyam and Ponnaguru) on November 19th, which students enjoyed. This was part of a larger discussion about promoting interaction between different regions and centers.
  • Stakeholder Visits: Various leaders and external parties visited the centers, including:
  1. A visit by one leader to a center on September 25th and another on October 27th.
  2. Visits by the Apnipatasala CEO to various centers in October and November.
  3. High School teachers visited a center on November 13th to observe activities.
  4. Media personnel visited a center on November 20th.

FEEDBACK:
Volunteer engagement and communication were a key focus, primarily managed through virtual meetings.

  • Virtual Meetings: Multiple Google Meet sessions were conducted with OV volunteers and instructors (October 11th, 18th, 25th, and November 15th).
  • Discussion Topics: These meetings addressed key operational points, including:
  1. Reviewing prayer, meditation, and yoga practices.
  2. Maintenance of attendance and status submission in the instructor's app.
  3. Report submission for Apnipatasala centers.
  4. Cross-culture interaction between centers.

CONCLUSION:

Operation Vasantha demonstrated effective management and high student participation across its 55 centers in October and November 2025. The program successfully maintained its mission by integrating hands-on learning with new digital initiatives (Apnipatasala systems and Alexa devices) and strong community outreach (Anjani program). Moving forward, the focus should be on ensuring the effective utilization and integration of the new digital tools in all applicable centers and consistently promoting cross-center interaction to broaden student exposure.
