We are looking for your support in building the Maddie Potts Memorial Field House in honor of Madeline Grace Potts who died tragically of an asymptomatic brain aneurysm at the age of 17. All donations will go directly into the foundation to give back to athletics, art and other areas near and dear to Maddie's heart, with scholarships and annual awards. Our supporters have helped us to raise 85% of the necessary funding for the Field House and we are asking for your help with the remaining 15%.
The Maddie Potts Foundation was started in order to carry on the legacy and memory of a healthy, young, female athlete, taken acutely from this world at the age of 17. This foundation emphasizes the importance of "paying it forward", anonymously, strictly as it is the right thing to do to help others. Maddie was never about her own recognition, only about making others around her better.
Maddie died on the soccer field, with her last memory being the goal posts as she was taking the free kick she never got to finish. Building an all inclusive Field House with indoor bathrooms, home and visitors locker rooms, indoor/upgraded concessions, an athletic training and Officials room would be the ultimate tribute to Maddie and the teams she helped build, by leading by example and including every single person regardless of ability.
We aim to provide community support with a focus on athletic & art facility upgrades as well as free educational opportunities promoting the value of art, athletics & positive coaching experiences to enhance lifelong learning. We have already given (16) $1100 scholarships, and plan to continue this annually. We also plan on incorporating opportunities for those with disabilities and hope to one day help cover funeral expenses and costs for families whose children die of a similar acute fate.
