Lebanon's economic and political crisis leaves cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, a life-threatening disease, struggling to afford essential treatments. This project will cover the medical costs for 5 CF patients, including medications and machines, for one year with annual expenses reaching $14,400 per patient. By providing this critical support, we aim to improve their quality of life and offer hope during these challenging times. If successful, we plan to expand our support to more patients.
Lebanon's economic, political crisis and the potential war between Israel and Hezb Allah has left cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, a life-threatening disease struggling to afford essential treatments. With annual costs reaching $14,400 per patient, where many families can't cope. Without proper care, CF patients face severe health risks especially with the shortage of medication that Lebanon is facing.
This project will fund the essential medical expenses for five cystic fibrosis (CF) patients in Lebanon for one year. By covering costs for treatments like Creon, antibiotics, and airway clearance devices, we ensure these patients receive the necessary care to manage their condition. This support will alleviate financial strain, improve their quality of life, and potentially prevent life-threatening complications, offering a lifeline during Lebanon's ongoing economic and political crisis.
The long-term impact of this project includes improving the health and quality of life for CF patients in Lebanon by ensuring access to essential treatments. By reducing complications and hospitalizations, patients can enjoy longer, healthier lives. Success in this pilot could lead to broader support, establishing a sustainable care model for Lebanon's CF community. This initiative may also increase awareness and advocacy, contributing to a stronger healthcare system in Lebanon.
