What Does Your Support Do In Their Lives?

By Jessica | Treasurer

Too many of the animals that come into our care arrive in very poor conditions. They are found sick, dirty, covered in fleas, undernourished, and pitiful. It never gets easier for those of us when we first hold them, you feel a combination of pity, fear, and exhaustion. Here we go again!

If they are really young, you have to get them warmed up, but you also need to get the fleas and dirt off of them. We grab at our arsenal of supplies and get to work. It is always worth the effort to see an animal looking and feeling better. Once you can get some milk or food in them, and they resting you can take a breath.

Now you plan the next steps which include veterinarin calls and/or visits to get them needed medications. We start getting our de-wormers and vaccines in many cases. You start setting up a place to house them; food, water, and bedding. For cats and kittens, litter pans too.

A lot goes into those first few hours when they arrive helpless and in bad shape. We drop everything until we see that we have got them cleaned up, settled, and better.

In some cases things become routine as far as care is concerned, but other times. we now face feedings and medication around the clock. We give 100% to save their lives and improve their situation.

Do we lose some no matter how hard we try? Yes, and it never stops being an awful feeling of failure.

BUT! The ones that come out on the other side healthy happy and eventually in a home of their own make all the effort work every minute of our time.

We couldnt do this without your support. We need so many supplies to be ready to face these situations as they occur daily! Your donations makes sure that we have the necessary supplies on hand to save their lives and get them well so they have the best chance at survival and a future.

Please see our before and after photos to see the amazing transformations that love and care can accomplish.
