LOVE GARDENS: GROWING FOOD, GROWING FUTURES

By Tracey Watson | Project Coordinator

Garden
Garden
Our gardens continue to flourish and expand, becoming a vital source of both nourishment and opportunity within the communities we serve.
Thousands of seedlings have been planted and harvested, with fresh produce flowing directly into the kitchens we serve. This ensures that meals are not only consistent, but also nutritious and sustainable.
We have been given additional land, which we are currently developing. This expansion will increase the amount of fresh vegetables available to our community kitchens, resulting in more meals and improved nutrition for families who rely on this support.
We have installed a solar powered system which operates the pump, and the pump in turn operates the full irrigation system, creating a more reliable water supply and supporting long term sustainability.
But the true impact of our gardens goes far beyond what is grown. Each garden also serves as a training hub and learning centre where community members gain the skills and confidence to grow their own food and build greater independence. Through this, the gardens are not only feeding communities, they are building resilience, restoring dignity, and creating pathways toward sustainability.
LOOKING AHEAD
We will continue expanding our garden spaces and strengthening our training programmes so that more individuals and families can benefit. By growing both food and knowledge, we are building more resilient communities and creating a future where people are equipped not only to survive, but to thrive.
