In 2024, GlobalGiving was one of the major partners for The Glow Foundation’s project themed “Spreading Love to 7000 Children in Marginalized Coastal Communities in Lagos state” which was held at the 3 communities in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. This event took place from 12th to 14th of September 2024. The sponsorship was aimed to increase Child Education, Self-love, the love of God and foster interpersonal love within the community, the event was tailored to fulfil these interests.
This Annual Project is tailored towards children of ages 20 below, drawing over 7,000 children in dilapidated communities in Ibeju Lekki. This also extended to the parents and guardians present at the event. The event features keynote speeches from industry leaders that engaged the children in talks (regarding Crime prevention, Spelling Bees). It also included other activities such as Dance Fitness and major educating exercises like; Hand Craft (Waste Management), Baking, Soap Making, make – Up, and an exhibition floor where children showcased what they learnt during the exercises and gifts were awarded. The event was well coordinated and managed by The Glow Foundation team who were also grouped into major committees. The planning committee includes: Operations, Monitoring and Evaluation, Medical, Prayer, Welfare and Logistics. Total number of volunteers from Glow Foundation are 20 in number.
In partnership with the Spreading Love Project, GlobalGiving played a vital role by creating a platform to help secure the financial resources needed to drive the foundation’s mission and activities. This service played a crucial role in the success of the project, as it help boost the foundation’s visibility by showcasing its mission, achievements, and stories in a compelling way. This heightened visibility increased credibility and helping to attract more donors , making the organization more attractive to potential donors. GlobalGiving’s involvement in the project stands as a testament to their dedication to social responsibility and their support of initiatives aimed at uplifting underprivileged communities.
