Dear Supporters of our LIVES KITCHEN!!
Thank you for your support for the LIVES Food Truck "LIVES KITCHEN".
As you can see from the photos, we have been able to continue with program for nearly 8 years. This is all because of your continued faith in our program.
We finally have a great system, in collaboration with the Showa Gakuen, which is a school, vocational training facility and independence support school, all combined together. The young students, aged between 18 and 30, come to the food truck for their training program, work for several months, gain confidence and through Hands On Tokyo or their school, find a place to work. Close to 20 people have been hired; most of them full time.
As mentioned in my last reports, the Hilton Group has been supporting the program; life skills program for people with different abilities. Thank you Hilton!!
We are very happy to see this result, and are eager to create momentum and more success stories.
Please see one video created by Riho Ishii, who had been with the food truck, since its start for 4 years, took a break for a couple of years, and found a job near her home in Gunma prefecture, at a company that makes and sells lunch boxes at a local hospital in the area. She now moved to a group home, and is fully independent! So happy for her.

This September, we have to change our design on the food truck, due to our contract. The design is a painting by an artist with disability, and we will renew the design this summer, using a different one created by an artist with disability. We will use part of your donations for this big change!!
LIVES KITCHEN has been invited to many festivals in Tokyo, and the last one was the Sakura Festival in Koto-ku ward.
The next one will be the university festival in Setagaya-ku. These are all fun events that are exciting for both our volunteers and the staff with disabilities. We work together, eat together and laugh together!! We are so blessed to be loved by so many people.
Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to updating you more in our next report.
