It won't be long and the 8th classroom at the Live and Learn in Kenya Primary School will be completed and ready for the children to move in and start learning! The walls are up - the roof is up - windows are in as well as the doors. Now the rest of the exterior needs to be finished - and then we can begin with the interior. We're still deciding on happy colors for the walls. Desks and chairs are being made. We are also working on having a wall built all around the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center. It is being built side for side. The construction company is even donating the work - we only need to pay for the materials. Now all we have to do is get it all paid for...
We are hoping that the children will be able to move into the classroom by the end of May or the beginning of June. That would give them two months in the new classrooms before the one month school break in August begins. The new school year begins in January - so everything will be perfect by then. If we're lucky the courtyard will also be finished by then so that mud and dust will not be carried into the classrooms.
It is such a joy to see the construction photos and how your wonderfully generous donations are really making an impact on the lives of these children. I can only say Asante sana - thank you so very much!
