Live&Learn in Kenya School Classroom Construction

Who would have believed that the construction of an entire classroom and an office could be so far along in just 1 1/2 months?! This construction company should be given a trophy! When this (7th) classroom is finished by the end of the February our tiny tots will be moving into their new classroom and starting a long and pleasant journey into literacy and a bright future.

The walls are up - the roof is up - the ceiling is being put in - even the windows are in place. It is amazing what can be done when sufficient funds are provided. These classrooms are not just rooms in a building - they are the objects of bright and promising futures to the thousands of children who will be sitting in them now and for many years to come - and learning for the future.

Our 7th classroom at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center in Nakuru, Kenya is growing and growing - and you donations are making a world of difference! Just a month ago this corner of the property was just barren land and now the roof is going up. It is truly amazing to see how quickly a sturdy construction can be built in such a short period of time if the funding is available. This classroom is scheduled to be completed by the end of February.  That means that the children having their classes in a make-shift classroom - which is more like a big shed than a classroom - can move into the new classroom and begin learning! Because half of the offices - teachers' rooms - will be completed as well, our tiny little tots will be able to begin Day Care as the classroom that served as an office until now will be renovated immediately. We will need furniture for both classrooms - and mattresses for our little ones for their afternoon naps. It is difficult to fathom the idea that little 3 - 4 year old children are hungry and sleeping on a dirt floor of a hut or shack in the slums. We are so happy to be changing this situation for 30 little boys and girls. 

Join us in making a difference! After this classroom is built, the 8th and last classroom of the elementary school will be built - hopefully immediately after this one is completed. But we need a lot of help from caring - sharing people who will make it happen!
