Imani Collective is a socio-economic empowerment program on a mission to alleviate poverty in Kenya. We provide holistic support to support our artisan's journey to economic freedom. During the LBL campaign, we are working to fully fund one month of nutritious meals for 137 employees and their children. We currently serve 3,100 free meals a month, ensuring our employees have the nutrition they need to work hard and the certainty that their children will grow up strong.
As of November 2021, 7.9 million people in Kenya lack sufficient food for consumption, making it harder for them to overcome poverty. If people aren't well-fed, they cannot maintain a sustainable income. Lack of food and clean water leads to illnesses, malnutrition, and hopelessness. This continues to be a problem all over Kenya, but with your help, we can change that.
At Imani Collective, we understand that food security is essential to a person's daily life. A daily meal at work supports our employees and allows parents to focus entirely on their home life. Ensuring children are well-fed and able to go to school can change the trajectory of their life.
Reliable food is one of the basic needs that must be met before our artisans can learn new skills through our other programs and begin changing their lives. Artisans are free to socialize and develop professionally without having to worry about their next meal. For their children, good nutrition opens the door for many opportunities, giving them the strength to pursue a livelihood of their own.
