In the 6th generation of the project in 2022, with your help, we will train 60 high school students to develop and implement 15 projects in 15 underdeveloped municipalities in Serbia. High school students will, with the professional help of mentors and experts, work on designing and preparing projects on one of the five topics: environmental protection, public health, tourism, culture and social activism. All projects are designed and implemented to help local communities and their development.
In a surveys from 2015 -18, 37% of young people consider the number of available forms of non-formal education to be insufficient. The prevailing view is that young people from vulnerable social groups are not given equal opportunities (51.6%). Several in-depth studies identified latent willingness of young people to find work and/or live outside Serbia, which is a negative indicator for the both local and national development. Unemployment and economic problems are considered the biggest issue.
The primary task of this project is to improve the quality and opportunities for acquiring qualifications and competencies and innovation of high school students. It is necessary to reduce the pronounced lack of perspective and motivation among the young people which is especially pronounced among high school students from rural and underdeveloped municipalities in Serbia.
It is extremely important to motivate young people to improve professionally and personally and enable them to invest their knowledge and skills in the social, economic and cultural progress of the entire country and even more importantly to help in developing their local communities. By participating in the project, the trainings it offers and building the desire for change, young people are encouraged to become bearers of change in their environments.
