To Our Beloved Donors
Our team has been working between the classroom and the production line, leading every stage of this quarter’s implementation. From trainee screening and intake interviews to classroom teaching, on-site support, daily observation, and team-building activities, we spent nearly every day alongside our partners with disabilities:
Intake AssessmentWe conducted mock onboarding interviews, asking questions and observing each trainee’s understanding and communication skills in order to build individual files.
Classroom InstructionWe delivered workplace safety and rules training in the classroom, using videos and simple explanations. For trainees who needed more time to understand, we repeated and confirmed the content until it was clear.
On-Site Production SupportWe spent most of our time on the actual production line, demonstrating workstation tasks step by step and praising progress. If a trainee became upset because of the noisy environment or task difficulty, we immediately moved them away from the station, calmed them down, and then reviewed what happened. We also provided ongoing reminders about arrival, departure, and work procedures to strengthen their sense of time and rules in a real work setting. At the same time, we kept detailed observation notes on focus, hands-on ability, and emotional performance to continuously update each trainee’s growth record.
Team-Building SupportWe organized regular meetings and group birthday celebrations to create relaxed social opportunities, ease training-related stress, and help trainees develop their interpersonal skills.
After the training, most participants achieved many small yet valuable changes. The majority gradually adapted to the workshop schedule and developed basic safety awareness and understanding of rules; their hands-on skills and concentration on the production line also improved. Some participants, when under pressure, became willing to seek help from staff. However, individuals with autism vary greatly. Some still experience sudden emotional fluctuations and have limited ability to sustain work over time. They remain a long way from being able to work independently and will require extended further training.
Our current challenges are threefold. First, participants often require one-on-one, close-proximity support and guidance, placing significant pressure on our human resources.Second, as we are still in the early adaptation phase, further training is needed in job skills and emotional regulation in the coming quarters. Finally, deepening the training conducting emotional and social activities, performing employment assessments, and connecting participants with suitable positions will all require sustained financial support.
We hope you will continue this journey with us. There is no shortcut to workplace growth for autistic adolescents. Classroom instruction is essential, but it must be paired with patient accompaniment, demonstration, reassurance, and encouragement on the production line. With your continued support, we will be able to:
Ensure sufficient staffing for one-on-one accompaniment
Replenish consumables for production-line training
Carry out social-emotional activities
Advance employment assessments and job matching
We will keep documenting our participants’ real progress, provide regular project updates, and ensure that every donation is used transparently and effectively.Thank you for walking alongside us—and for helping light their way.
Best wishes,
Ushine Charity Center Team.
