In Ecuador, thousands of young people are searching for opportunities, while nearly 40% of companies struggle to find workers with the skills they need. The lack of technical and socio-emotional skills continues to be a major barrier to quality employment. Helping young people discover and develop their talents is therefore more important than ever.
During this period, we supported 246 youth from Pisulí and La Roldós, an increase driven by new participants joining our vocational training schools. We strengthened our career guidance program by welcoming a new educator specialized in youth employability, providing both group and one-on-one counseling to 34 students and recent graduates.
We also adapted our workshops and career exploration activities according to participants’ age and educational stage. Youth took part in vocational experiences related to Electricity and Electronics, Gastronomy, Agronomy, and Textiles, as well as a professional visit to Qualipharm. Our training schools continue to grow: 11 youth are enrolled in Gastronomy, 10 in Automotive Mechanics, and 7 in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), thanks to partnerships with universities and companies that create pathways to practical learning and employment.
Young people also played leadership roles during the presentation of Sembrar’s 2025 Social Report and participated in recreational and cultural activities that strengthen their sense of community and belonging.
Víctor’s story reflects the long-term impact of this journey. He joined Sembrar when he was just one year old and, together with his family, has been accompanied by the foundation for almost his entire life. Today, at 21, he is in his second semester of Automotive Mechanics Technology with a 50% scholarship. His dream is to open his own workshop and create opportunities for others. As he says: “We all have a talent, but we must discover its value, develop it, and work on it—because that is what will shape our future.”
Thank you for believing that every young person has a talent capable of transforming their life and community.
