We are a private, non-for profit program, and for many children with autism the only educational alternative in Venezuela. We provide specialized comprehensive education to 110 students with autism, assessment services for 300 children, and need-based financial support in ranges of 35%-95% of cost for both. We serve more than 450 families annually, a 45% increase from school year 2010-2011, first year of the program.
Venezuela is facing a humanitarian crisis and an economic collapse. Educational programs and talent scarcity, migration, and hyperinflation are severely restricting the provision and access to special education and services; today families are struggling to meet their children needs. Autism is a neurological disorder characterized by difficulties in social interaction, communication, behavior. Prevalence is 1 of 68; best hope for effective social and family integration is special education.
We will continue providing comprehensive education to 110 students with autism, assessment services for 300 children/teens, and need-based financial support for at least 75% of our student body. We are successfully addressing the talent and organizational challenges through out of the box thinking without jeopardizing our service. Our best reference: The praise of the more than 450 families we serve annually, and the continuos skill development of our children and adolescents.
Venezuela is suffering one of the worst economic crises in Latin American history. In the face of such hardship, our community has chosen the path of resilience and survival. Committed to continuously learn, improve, and become a role model in autism education. We aspire to develop the skills of children/teens with autism and their families to allow them to integrate effectively within the society. We seek to provide assessment services to address the developmental needs of those with autism.
