For more than the 2 year, HOPE and Believe has been running a humanitarian program aimed at distracting young people from the realities of war in Ukraine and giving them an opportunity to find peace in creative work. The program was implemented in the form of a studio-workshop, where young people can get acquainted with the wonderful world of creating mosaic images from individual pieces of wood veneer and acquire creative work skills.
Unfortunately, everything that happens in Ukraine has a direct impact not only on adults, but also on children. And even if the family lives far from direct hostilities, it does not mean that children are isolated from the dark effects of war and human tragedies. The difficult psychological background of a country at war, a large amount of cruel and unnecessary information for children's perception, the fear of another air raid - this is the atmosphere in which our children have to live.
In such a situation, for more than a year the HOPE and BELIEVE Foundation has been carrying out a humanitarian program, the main goal of which is to distract young people from the existing realities of war and to give them an opportunity to find peace in creative work. The program was implemented in the form of a studio-workshop, where young people could get acquainted with the wonderful world of creating mosaic images from individual pieces of wood veneer and acquire creative work skills.
2 years ago we held the first master classes and immediately recruited 10 students. Six of them are still making mosaics. The interest among teenagers was great, and we could easily train another 20-30 people. But we are limited in what we can do. In addition to the studio where the training is held, this activity requires the cost of equipment, the veneer itself, the cost of cutting it, and considerable costs for further processing of the panels. We cannot develop this activity alone.
