Since our last update, the Fund for Special Rescues has continued to power fast, large-scale food rescues across Argentina — moving in quickly whenever a harvest surplus would otherwise go to waste. Between February and June 2026, the Fund supported the rescue of 158,000 kg of fresh food, including fruits and vegetables, with two rescues standing out: a large-scale potato rescue from Balcarce and a citrus rescue through our "Marea Amarilla" (Yellow Tide) program in Tucumán, which has been turning lemon surplus into food security since 2019.
The Fund's model creates a double benefit: every kilo rescued is a kilo that reaches a family's table instead of a landfill — and every kilo kept out of a landfill is less methane released into the atmosphere. Both rescues moved through our national logistics network and were distributed to food banks across the country, reaching social organizations far beyond where the food was originally grown.
Thanks to supporters like you, our network goes on to reach more than 1 million people across Argentina each year, 68% of them children. Every rescue — whether it's lemons from Tucumán or potatoes from Balcarce — becomes part of that bigger picture: fewer good meals lost, more kids with food on the table.
