Lebanese Red Cross Response to War on Lebanon

By Elie Dagher | USG - RMLD

During the ongoing war on Lebanon, the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) has focused on responding to daily attacks, providing pre-hospital emergency care and emergency transport for the wounded, distributing blood units to hospitals treating the injured, delivering primary healthcare services, and offering essential disaster relief to displaced families.

Following the escalation of the conflict, the LRC issued a Call to Action outlining four priority objectives:

  • Providing immediate ambulance response and conducting search and rescue operations.
  • Delivering safe blood products to hospitals.
  • Offering primary healthcare through our 37 centers and 9 Mobile Medical Units for patients and displaced families.
  • Delivering critical disaster relief including water, ready meals, bread, mattresses, blankets, food parcels, hygiene kits, and water and sanitation services for families forced to flee their homes.

Impact so far:

  • Our ambulance service carried out 3,213 war-related missions and 181,247 missions nationwide.
  • Our blood transfusion services supplied 3,773 blood units for the war wounded and 66,171 blood products overall.
  • Our Mobile Medical Units and healthcare centers provided 697,762 healthcare services.
  • Our teams reached thousands of families with basic assistance and shelter support.

You can find stories of the people you have helped on the Lebanese Red Cross YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@lebaneseredcross/videos .

Through this report, we hope every person who donated so generously can see the true impact of their support and the difference it has made in the lives of Lebanese families.

We sincerely thank every donor for standing with us and invite them to continue supporting the Lebanese Red Cross’s vital, ongoing work and to help us stay prepared for any crisis we may face in the future.

Together, we save lives.
