Since the conflict started on the 8th of October 2023, the Lebanese Red Cross was on the frontline on the response. When the conflict escalated severely into war in September 2024, and since the ceasefire on the 27th of November, the crisis became acute, displacing more than 1.2 million persons, and causing more than 18,000 casualties.
During this time period, the Lebanese Red Cross ambulance service provided 181,427 emergency response and search and rescue missions, the blood transfusion services provided patients and hospitals with 66,171 blood units, and primary healthcare services treated 697,000 patients.
In addiition, as part of the relief offered ot the displaced, the LRC distributed 1.7 million food parcels and ready meals, 484,000 liters of drinking water, 145,391 mattresses and more than 57,000. hygiene kits.
Currently the LRC is deploying more mobile medical units to provide primary healthcare services to the displaced, and continuing its efforts to distribute relief supplies.
