The LearnLinks program is ongoing. Activities were organized during the summer including work on a "soapbox car" event and attendance at the YWCA's Camp Westwind in the City. Twenty-six LearnLinks students received scholarships to attend a 5-day camp session.
LearnLinks continues to operate at four Portland affordable housing facilities. We take a holistic approach to build both academic strength and involvement with learning and community. Combining educational support with the services of an art therapist meets both the educational and psychosocial needs of children and families.
LearnLinks offers numerous volunteer opportunities including: tutors, creativity coaches, nutrition guides, learning portfolio coordinators, artists, in-kind resource coordinators, community builders and social coordinators.
Grants to provide additional support for LearnLinks are currently pending with: Bloomfield Foundation, Holland Family Foundation, Hoover Family Foundation, JEZ Foundation and Trust Management Services.
