Roof Repairs - Put Back
In the aftermath of a disaster, the importance of rebuilding communities cannot be overstated. With countless lives disrupted and homes damaged, the endeavor to construct new dwellings and reconstruct existing dwellings serves as a beacon of hope amidst despair. Often, this monumental task is undertaken with the invaluable assistance of volunteer labor, where individuals from all walks of life come together with a shared purpose: to help those in need. These volunteers, driven by compassion and a desire to make a tangible difference, offer their time, skills, and resources to make homes home again for disaster survivors. Their efforts not only provide shelter but also symbolize the resilience and solidarity of humanity in times of adversity. Through their dedication and altruism, they not only rebuild structures but also restore faith and inspire communities to emerge stronger than before. Each nail hammered, each wall erected, represents a step towards healing and renewal, as survivors find solace in the warmth and security of their newly built homes. In the hands of volunteers, these structures transcend mere buildings; they become tangible expressions of compassion and solidarity, embodying the unwavering support of a global community united in the face of adversity.

Insulation Work
Families are always in need after a disaster, and often for years following. ROAD continues to serve disaster surviving families in need with free home repairs. Volunteers are the backbone for this service and we are continually grateful for those who serve and for those who donate, both making our mission possible.
We are currently serving June 2023, April 2023, and May 2022 disaster survivors in multiple counties across the state. Tornadoes, floods, and straight line winds have impacted many families and as we move into the winter months, many will face challenges in not having their homes repaired.
Your ongoing support is what Makes Homes Home Again!
Please volunteer and donate today.

WIN WIN Recovery
By Chad E. Detwiler | President / CEO
![Classroom Training]()
Classroom Training
2023 has not been a slow year for disasters. Already many more families are placed in a greater state of need due to recent tornadoes and hurricane force winds in multiple towns and cities across the state. Soon Oklahoma will have three disasters in an active recovery phase in different parts of the state stretching recovery organizations thin in order to meet the need.
ROAD has been positioning itself over the last few years and most specifically over the last few months where its vocational training program can provide the needed labor force to help all those in need. Since 2020 ROAD has partnered with Career Tech and WorkForce to train individuals who had a justice involved background in the art of home remodeling. This hands-on training gives each participant practical skills needed for them to be a handy-man or a private contractor. In this role those who need their past put behind them have the greatest chance of being gainfully employed. That is a WIN!
For the disaster survivor, they receive their home repairs free of charge. They never pay anything for the materials or the labor. Making the disaster survivors home home again, allows them to stay in their community. This is a WIN!
ROAD is working hard to find a stable labor force to make recovery happen all across the state for all families who have little to no means of recovery on their own. In the fall of this year ROAD will incorporate the Department of Corrections work-release program into their vocational training. Those who have completed the six month carpentry school will be the first elegible participants. Having six months of classroom training plus ROAD's hands-on program will give those participants, once released, the greatest chance of employability day one.
We see all this as a WIN-WIN for the natural disaster survivor as well as for the personal disaster survivor.
