On behalf of Caribbean Education Foundation (CEF), we would like to wish you and your family Happy Holidays! We hope that the upcoming New Year 2016 will bring each of you good health, happiness and success.
Our first six CEF Scholars have graduated from high school this year, thanks to all our donors! Five years ago in September 2010, these students were awarded a CEF Paul Bogle Scholarship based on high academics and financial need, to attend public high schools in Jamaica. In 2015, they graduated with honors from top high schools throughout the city of Kingston and rural communities in Jamaica. We are incredibly PROUD their tremendous accomplishments!
A high school diploma is an important step in preparing a young person to live an independent, secure and happy life and to contribute to Jamaica's economic competitiveness as part of an educated, innovative workforce.
Trevisa graduated from Morant Bay High School in St. Thomas, Jamaica in 2015! Trevisa graduated as an “Honor Student” with an “A” Grade Point Average! In addition, Trevisa graduated with “Special Honors” as First in Mathematics in the entire graduating class of over 200 students with an AWARD for Academic Excellence! She was Number 2 in the Graduating Class! Trevisa achieved EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS with 10 Ones in each subject taken on the Caribbean Examinations Counsel (CSEC), which students must master in order to get into Sixth Form (Grades 12 and 13). PERFECT SCORES of 1 were in the following 10 subjects: Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Principles of Accounts, English A, English B and Food and Nutrition. She is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend university upon completion.
Sarah graduated from Immaculate Conception High School for Girls in Jamaica in 2015! Sarah graduated as an “Honor Student” with an “A” Grade Point Average! In addition, Sarah graduated First in Human & Social Biology in the entire graduating class of over 200 students! In addition to her high school achievements, Sarah achieved STELLAR RESULTS with 8 Ones in each subject taken on the Caribbean Examinations Counsel (CSEC), which students must master in order to get into Sixth Form (Grades 12 and 13). PERFECT SCORES of 1 were in the following 8 subjects: Mathematics, Information Technology, Economics, Human & Social Biology, Spanish, Caribbean History, English A and English B. She is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend university upon completion.
Coya graduated from Wolmer’s High School for Girls in Kingston, Jamaica in 2015! Throughout her High School career at the Wolmer's, Coya continues to excel in academics and plays a leading role on her school’s Track and Field team, competing in the Discus. Despite very challenging economic and emotional circumstances, including the death of her guardian from cancer, Coya has held steadfast in focus to do her best and succeed! She attained 8 subjects on the CSEC, including 6 Ones! She is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend university upon completion.
Ravorn graduated from Calabar High School in Kingston, Jamaica! Despite incredibly challenging economic and academic circumstances in the inner-city community of Riverton City where he lives, Ravorn tried his best to focus on school. Ravorn is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend University to major in Business Administration. Ravorn attained 6 subjects, including a 1 in Business Administration, Principles of Accounts and Mathematics on the Caribbean Examination Council (CSEC), we have no doubt Ravorn will excel as a Business Major at university! We wish Ravorn the very best in Sixth Form and his journey to university! We hope that Ravorn keeps focus and becomes a positive force in his community, Jamaica and the world. CEF will continue to renew Ravorn’s Scholarship for the next 2 years of Sixth Form, as long as we have funding to do so.
Tamia graduated from Hampton High School in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica in 2015! Tamia graduated on the “Principal's Honor Roll” with a Gold cord! She has an overall “A” Grade Point Average for all the years at high school! In addition, Tamia attained 8 subjects on the CSEC exams, including a 1 in Mathematics, Information Technology and English! We are incredibly PROUD of Tamia’s stellar accomplishments! She is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend university upon completion.
Amoy graduated from Ardenne High School in Kingston, Jamaica in 2015! Despite very challenging economic and family circumstances, Amoy has held steadfast in focus to do her best! Amoy would like to pursue medicine at University. Amoy received the 5th Highest CSEC Score in English Literature in all of Ardenne High School! We hope that Amoy keeps focus and becomes a positive force in her community, Jamaica and the world. CEF will continue to renew Amoy’s Scholarship for the next 2 years of Sixth Form, as long as we have funding to do so. She plans to attend university upon completion of Sixth Form.
