Summary

We are excited to introduce the "Mense Aarde Verbind (MAV Centre)," translating to "People Earth Connect" in Afrikaans. We have identified a potential property in a township plagued by unemployment, poverty, hunger, and waste management issues. Our center is distinctive in its dual focus: fostering business startups and development through comprehensive training programs, and serving as a model for eco-friendly practices within the community and local businesses.

Challenge

Thousands of people are unemployed and uneducated across South Africa, with no or little support people can't fight the poverty cycle. This centre will become part of the community and a flagship for change.

Solution

We plan to purchase a centre next door to our primary school that is in a safe and ideal location to serve 2-3 local townships. Becoming the hub of the community we aim to provide the support for people in the community to change their own future. We will offer internships, training programs and lessons for skilled work, office work, catering, sewing and support for people from a township to make their business ideas into reality

Long-Term Impact

Thousands of people are unable to access any form of services, education and often left unemployed and un-educated in townships, we plan to open a centre that can be sponsored for 2 years that will provide free training and support for young people to kick start business ideas. After the 2 year investment small businesses will be making funding to bring this project to become more sustainable. A full copy of the project proposal, budget and theory of change is attached for more information
