Thank you for donating to the fundraiser to provide laptops for the Disability Community Centre (DCC) in Maua, Kenya. The DCC is a community project, which supports children with disabilities and their families, and works to promote disability awareness.
Thanks to your generous support, three laptops have been purchased for the office, thereby enabling staff to make timely reports and attend online meetings with other support partners. The move from sharing one outdated computer to 3 new laptops has made a huge difference to the efficiency of the office.
Many of us are familiar now with virtual meetings and how the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for access to efficient technology. Like HATW and other organisations, the DCC has moved partly to online working. Of course, much of their work remains face to face by necessity. Nonetheless, the new laptops make it easier for staff to keep up to date records to monitor activities and report to partners. This in turn helps secure continued support for the community.
The new laptops also open doors to a wealth of information and training available online allowing staff access to new forward-thinking approaches and the opportunity to share experiences and ideas.
Thank you for assisting the brilliant DCC staff in their life-changing work with children with disabilities.
