Libraries have been fundamental institutions for centuries, serving as repositories of knowledge, culture, and education. Libraries are essential for students as they provide not only academic resources but also a supportive environment for learning, research, and personal development. They contribute to the overall educational experience and help students develop skills that will be valuable throughout their lives.
At Agastya International Foundation,Great progress has been made in the library this quarter. Here's a summary of activities carried:
Library Collection: We have received a total of 119 books from individual donors. Additionally, on Teacher's Day (5th September), we received a generous donation of 240 books from Global Teachers, Karnataka.
Books Cataloguing: A total of 359 books have been catalogued in this quarter (July-September). This will make it easier for users to locate and borrow books.
Book Grading: We have successfully graded 50 books in this quarter. This ensures that the books are in good condition and can be used by library patrons.
Library Activity: Repeat Visit sessions have been conducted in this quarter. These sessions promote regular use of the library and encourage users to explore the available resources.
Library Book users: We have had a total of 4942 student users, 320 teacher users, and 49 staff members using the library in this quarter. We have also had 12 other visitors who made use of the library facilities.
Government Teachers' Engagement: We have engaged government teachers in the activity of "Rebuilding stories with selected images." This activity aims to encourage creativity and storytelling skills among teachers.
Overall, the library is thriving with a growing collection, active user participation, and engaging activities.
