Dear sirs:
Greetings from Puerto Rico! With great respect, we present you this report on the progress of “La Fondita de Jesús en la Comunidad” and “Institutional and Community Resilient Project”, of Corporación La Fondita de Jesús, as of October, 2019.
LA FONDITA DE JESÚS EN LA COMUNIDAD
Thanks to donors like you, we have been able to continue with the promotion of the recovery and stabilization of communities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after hurricane María! “Conexión Móvil” Program provided clinical services from August through October, 2019, in the following 13 vulnerable communities of San Juan:
A total of 783 non-duplicated persons were impacted with 2,778 service units. The majority of the participants continue to be 45 years of age or older, with a significant number of 65+ people (38%). Also, 150 people received hot meals (lunches), and 43% of those were homeless persons.
Health fairs were coordinated in different communities. Those have included services such as referrals for mammograms (35) and sonomamographies (27), among others. During the health fairs, our nurse had the opportunity to screen vital signs to 411 people, distributed 6 OTC medicines and facilitated 10 workshops. As always, our doctor, psychologist and drug counselor evaluated different health and psychological conditions of the homeless and other served persons.
INSTITUTIONAL & COMMUNITY RESILIENT PROJECT

During these months, activities have been facilitated for the reinforcement of neighborhood organizing efforts, to become more collaborative and self-sufficient.
A total of 98 people were impacted with workshops and meetings on the following themes:
Roofs Fixing in Communities
As of October, 2019, roofs and infrastructure in two (2) additional homes have been fixed, in vulnerable communities of San Juan. We estimate that this project will be finished by December 31, 2019.
Solar Lamps
In order to promote and improve the security of the residents of vulnerable communities of San Juan, we have installed solar lamps in their common areas. Our personnel have trained the residents of these communities on how to operate them.
