The 2019 Knights in White Lycra Go-Go Run is working in tandem with YouMeWe NPO to provide funding for Tokyo area children's homes.Through YouMeWe NPO, children in group homes are provided with computer skills such as programming, digital literacy,Microsoft Excel and Adobe Photoshop lessons, as well as English language learning software. The Nov 9th run allows participants to meet the children whose lives we will be directly impacting through their donations. $ Equivalent below for registration.
There are over 30,000 children in care homes throughout Tokyo, many of whom have suffered abuse and are facing mental and physical disabilities. Knights in White Lycra is partnering with YouMeWe NPO to give children the chance for a brighter future, through teaching them skills such as computer and financial literacy, and providing a platform for English language learning.
The 2019 Go-Go Run is a chance to give back to local children's homes while spending the day with friends, with the full day's events including a 10, 21, or 55k run, visit to a local children's home, post-run onsen, and optional dinner party. Through meeting the children whose lives your donations directly impact, YouMeWe and KIWL provide an opportunity to build lasting community connections while identifying potential areas of need.
The long-term impact of this fundraiser is increased digital literacy and English language skills for children in state care, providing a competitive advantage in future employability. YouMeWe NPO wishes to give these children every advantage possible in their future careers, starting with necessary and relevant computer skills.
