Today, diseases caused by mosquitoes as malaria, dengue, etc. have become terrible and fatal for human beings. In rainy season, we often see stagnated water in rural as well as urban regions that provides favourable conditions for mosquitoes to get multiplied and grow. The probles is mostly seen in slums of the cities and in rural areas as the residents are not aware of the problem and thier awareness and carelessness make them victim of malaria, dengue and other such diseases.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan identified such 4 slums in the city where mosquitoes were heavily populated. Then, RSKS, with the support of GlobalGiving, organized awareness and cleanliness campaign. In the awareness program, our activists organized a workshop with the support of the localites and made them understand about the diseases caused by mosquitoes. The localites also listened the activists carefully and shared their problems that were resolved in the workshop. After the workshop, a cleanliness campaign was held in the localtiy in which the local residents participated with excitement.
The localites became aware of the issue through the awareness and cleanliness campaing held with the support of GlobalGiving. A localite told one of our activists that the problem of water stagnation in the slum is so common that gets contaminated, but now the locality has become clean and hygienic with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and RSKS. Moreover, the residents have become aware of the problem for which the entire credit goes to GlobalGiving Foundation and RSKS and they thanked.
